Wednesday, 02 November 2011 18:19

We are now releasing the upgraded UP! 3d printer which has high performance optimization, there are following upgrades.

1. Main board updates, it has high performance optimization.

2. CPU board is upgraded.

3. It adds an initialize switch in the front of the printer. Pressing down the switch for a second, the printer can be initialized. Pressing down the switch for more than three seconds, the printer stops all and will be in a dormant state.

4. It upgrades an LED light. The LED light can show you the working status of the printer.

5. It adds one power on/off switch at the back of the printer.

6. The filament feeder is improved, it can be provided electricity by the new motherboard through a connection cable.

7. It adds a cover for the extruder head, the cover can protect you from getting burned when the printer is working. The material spool holder is also improved. They are both printed by the UP! 3d printer, you can print them by yourselves. The STL files can be found at: C:\Program Files\UP\Example\UP Spare Part.

8. Upgrading the platform and related parts, allows much more freedom and precision in leveling the platform, and can also help reduce the warping problem.

"Platform Suit" is on special price
Thursday, 29 September 2011 17:02

Hi Uppers,

We are now releasing the "platform suit", which works very well in solving the model warping problem. There are following updates,

1. A upgraded spring, replaced the M3 washers, which increases the height between the platform and the X axis, allows small clips to hold the perfboard and clips do not touch the arm, also allows much more freedom and precision in leveling the platform. If the platform is calibrated horizontally, it can help reduce the warping problem to some extend.

2. There are four holes on each corner of the platform V2.0 and perfboard. The perfboard can be fixed on the new platform through four flat M3 screws. The clips are additional parts to make the board attached better on the platform.

3. The perfboard is already cut at 45 degrees angle with the edge, and just fits the size of the platform V 2.0. When printing starts, plastic will have more chance to be pushed into all perforations, and this provides a stronger mechanical bond with the bottom surface that prevents it from later lifting.

Now the " Platform Suit" with pack of one Platform V2.0, three pieces of perfboard, three springs, six clips and four flat M3 screws, is on a special price on our online shop. Special price will be over till October 31st. We are now accepting pre-orders, products will be delivered since October 20th . Please note, we will be on holiday from 1st day to 7th day of Oct, orders will be confirmed once we are back from holiday.

How much UP! 3d printing costs?
Friday, 26 August 2011 14:13

How much does the UP! printing cost? This is one of the most concerned topic, here we will give you answer.

We are printing one 30 cm³ (1.181in³) cube for example. Layer thickness is 0.2 mm, base thickness is 2mm.The major difference is inner fill structure.

Model info: 30×30×30mm layer thickness: 2mm

The cost varies with different "Fill" patterns. From left to right is "solid->loose->hollow->big hole" showing inner structure, the weight and time are for the total model. The price is calculated to our ABS, 35 USD for 700g(all the data includes the raft cost).

The model needs no support. For some model, there will be some support, which will add a little cost. You can select the support angle, but please note the support material costs only a little, too smaller support angle may cause printing failure.
